What to do after a motor vehicle incident
Helpful tips
Being in a car accident is stressful. At Gore Mutual, we care about customers and we’re here to help you.
Stop your vehicle and remain at the scene
Leaving the scene of an accident is an offence. Whether you were directly or indirectly involved in an accident, you must remain at the scene or immediately return.
Call 911
Call 911 immediately if you or anyone involved in the accident have injuries, or if the damage to all vehicles involved is over $2,000.
Report to a Collision Reporting Centre (CRC)
Report the accident to a CRC within 24 hours if there are no injuries to anyone involved and the damage to all vehicles involved is under $2,000.
When it’s possible and safe to do so
Move your vehicle to the side of the road. Then, take photos of the scene and damage to the vehicles. Exchange insurance information with other parties involved before driving your vehicle home.
Call us at 1-844-974-GORE(4673) for assistance or to make a claim
