Beware of Fraudulent Job Posts, Offers and Scams

Fraudulent job posts and offers have become popular on social media platforms and trusted hiring platforms. This common practice has prompted more Scammers to participate in elaborate schemes to phish. These scammers are phishing by sending probing emails and fictitious job offers to gain personal information. Phishing could lead to identity theft and money laundering.

Watch out for:

  • Job postings that look too good to be true. Reference the company’s website to verify they are hiring for the role.
  • Requests for personal information that is not required or submitted through a secure method.
  • Requests for payment to apply for a role.
  • Being asked to purchase office equipment/supplies and provide your bank information for reimbursement.
  • Messages about jobs you haven’t applied for or didn’t expect.
  • Unusual benefits relating to a job, such as a salary quoted in a different currency

Protect yourself from Job Posting scams.
