Gore Mutual took home the prize for Best Overall Corporate Governance at this year’s Excellence in Governance Awards took place in October in Toronto.

Now in its sixth year, the Excellence in Governance Awards are organized by Governance Professionals of Canada and recognize the critical role that good governance plays in enhancing the value of organizations and contributing to the competitiveness of Canada’s economy and its capital markets.

In addition to receiving the prestigious award for Best Overall Corporate Governance, we were also nominated for Best Practices in Strategic Planning, Oversight and Value Creation by the Board.

The Excellence in Governance Awards jury panel is composed of well-respected governance experts from across the country. The panel’s comments stated that “good governance is a direct result of good engagement” and praised Gore Mutual’s engagement as being “innovative, unique, proactive and genuinely driven by the desire to better understand and better serve its stakeholders.”
