Clarification for brokers on member mailing

November 15, 2024
Corporate

On October 17, 2024, we informed you about a mailing sent to our mutual members from our independent registrar, Kingsdale Advisors.

This letter asked members to confirm their communication preferences for member-related communications, encouraging them to choose “electronic” as their preferred method. The purpose of the letter was to encourage members to provide permission to receive member-related communications—which we are required by law to have for member-related matters—as well as share their preferred method to receive such communications, and encourage them to do so via electronic delivery versus mail. This consent will help us ensure strong member representation at our meetings.

As a purpose-driven organization, we prioritize protecting the environment and reducing waste. By encouraging members to receive communications electronically, we collectively reduce Gore Mutual’s environmental footprint.

This option also provides members with faster access to materials and convenient online options. We've received some questions from brokers about this mailing, and we’d like to clarify a few key points:

  • • This mailing requests members to opt-in specifically for communications related to mutual membership only. This choice is separate from their policy documents; opting for electronic or paper communication in this letter will not impact how they receive their policy documents.
  • • Kingsdale Advisors has also been calling members. This is to encourage members to provide permission to receive member-related communications, as well as share their preferred method to receive such communications, and encourage them to do so via electronic delivery versus mail.

To assist with your client discussions, please refer to the original Member letter and Member FAQs, along with our website, for further guidance. We have also created an additional set of FAQs to help answer other questions we’ve been receiving. For any specific questions about mutual membership or the electronic communication opt-in, please contact Kingsdale Advisors at 1-877-659-1820 or goremember@kingsdaleadvisors.com.

Thank you for your continued support.
